Pixl8’s Client Day at Tech UK, London was a dynamic gathering, bringing together clients from the MX Platform and ReadyMembership communities.
The event on 21 March 25 was introduced by Alex Skinner, Pixl8’s Managing Director and opened with a thoughtful reflection on growth and technological evolution. Alex pondered the delicate balance of scaling Pixl8, now 100-strong, while preserving the vibrant company culture that defines its ethos.
A significant theme of the day was the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI), with Alex predicting that the forthcoming five years will see AI reshaping professional life more dramatically than the past two decades combined. Pixl8 is proactively expanding the capabilities of its ReadyMembership platform, embedding AI-driven automation to cater to both standalone users and those within broader enterprise technology ecosystems.
Enhancing User Experience with AI
Steve Dowle, Head of Product, offered attendees an exciting overview of upcoming developments for the Pixl8 MX Platform and ReadyMembership. Steve highlighted user-experience enhancements, focusing on simplifying menus, streamlining user interactions, and modernising interfaces. Notably, the new Pixl8 ‘Hub’ now features an experimental AI Assistant designed to answer user queries via natural language, making support interactions more intuitive and personalised. The Hub also includes comprehensive user guides, aiding customer onboarding and ongoing platform education.
Steve also detailed Pixl8’s roadmap, outlining key releases over the next 12 months. March 2025 will introduce enhancements like Eventfolio booking refinements, credit note handling, and shopping basket discounts. By May, an Admin AI Assistant will arrive alongside further UX upgrades and message centre improvements. September’s focus shifts to accounting integrations, resource libraries, and member engagement analytics. Finally, December brings comprehensive accounting software integrations and enriched subscription management options.
The Power of Digital Transformation
The event showcased a compelling case study from the European Association for International Education, highlighting the power of digital transformation. With complex ticketing structures involving varied membership types, international tax systems, and manual reconciliation of thousands of transactions, Pixl8’s solution streamlined processes, significantly simplifying administrative burdens. The outcome was a strikingly successful conference hosting 7,000 participants and achieving a remarkable 92% delegate satisfaction rate.
Pixl8 also supported the Association in improving its governance process. Faced with strict regulatory requirements under Dutch law, the association needed a secure, transparent, and user-friendly election system. Pixl8’s solution dramatically enhanced voter experience and security, resulting in a smooth election process with robust audit capabilities and minimal user support requests. This project emphasised key lessons, notably the importance of thorough requirement analysis, real-world testing, and continuous improvement.
Delegates heard how Pixl8 partners with Fielddrive.com, seamlessly integrating QR-code-based registration into the Eventfolio system, greatly enhancing the delegate check-in experience.
Improving search with ReadyIntelligence
In exploring AI further, Alex Skinner provided thoughtful insights on Pixl8’s approach, advocating for assistive rather than replacement AI, stressing the importance of transparent attribution and acknowledging the risks of AI “hallucinations”. Pixl8’s strategy revolves around developing hyper-focused language models, providing highly relevant and accurate results through semantic search technology, known internally as ReadyIntelligence (RI).
RI encompasses modules like Knowledge, Data, and Meet, designed to integrate varied content types including documents, images, audio, and video to create nuanced, personalised interactions. Particularly notable is Pixl8’s collaboration with Anthropic’s Claude, harnessing advanced AI capabilities within a secure, controlled environment. This approach allows organisations to effectively monetise their unique knowledge bases.
A beta project with the Self-Storage Association demonstrated RI’s practical value, particularly in customer service and knowledge management. By integrating webinar content and refining knowledge bases, Pixl8’s AI solution can provide deep personalisation and support tailored interactions with members.
Finally, Eventfolio updates announced by Steve promise significant benefits, including improved booking flows, enhanced session searching, comprehensive discounting options, and easier management of speaker and venue information.
Scott Cole, Pixl8’s Chief Revenue Officer, concluded the day with gratitude, expressing excitement about Pixl8’s pioneering work in AI-driven membership solutions. He highlighted the compelling potential for Pixl8’s AI platform, anticipating keen interest in its future evolution, deployment, and pricing strategy compared with other market providers.
Pixl8’s Client Day highlighted not just technical innovation but a clear vision for the future. With bold strides in AI and thoughtful platform enhancements, Pixl8 is positioned at the forefront of digital transformation in membership technology. As the sector watches closely, Pixl8’s developments promise significant implications for clients and competitors alike.
